Sports and chiropractic make a perfect team. Why? Because chiropractic can help improve and enhance athletic performance and by reducing injuries keeping players on the field.
Athletes of all ages can benefit from chiropractic care. Children involved in sports are not immune from injuries. They lack complete bone fusion and growth as well as development of muscles. This can lead to instability in the spine and future problems. Girls can be at a greater risk for scoliosis. As the saying goes, “As the twig is bent, so grows the trees.” Vertebral subluxations are neurological disturbances caused by nerve interference from the brain, down the spinal cord to all parts of the body. Interference at the spinal level can lead to aberrant nerve conduction. Specific chiropractic adjustments gradually realign the malpositioned vertebrae reducing nerve interference through the spine to those body parts.
Chiropractors have become an integral part of the healthcare team in sports today. They are part of many high school, college, professional and even Oympic teams! Americans suffer from millions of sports-related injuries each year.
Athletes with such injuries should utilize regular chiropractic checkups.
Chiropractic helps to balance your structural system (spine, musculotendinous) relieving tension on the nerves. Better nerve function means better performance and a stronger immune system as the nerves even regulates that system of the body.
